Honolulu International Airport, which is also used as a center by Hawaiian Airlines, the largest airline of Hawaii, carries 20 million passengers and 410 thousand tons of cargo annually with its three terminal buildings.

The city centre can be reached from the Honolulu International Airport by taxi or with a rented vehicle in around 15 minutes. Some hotels offer their guests a shuttle service, which is a practical alternative.  Although construction works on the Honolulu Rail Transit Project is ongoing, travellers that prefer to use public transportation to and from the airport must use the bus until the railway line is complete.
