About Cartagena

In the city of Cartagena in Colombia, according to 2005 data, there is a population of about 895,000 people. Founded in 1533 by Pedro de Heredia, the city is a protected colonial harbor with low elevation, and in 1815 it gained its independence and received the title of "hero city".
