About Grenada

Grenada, a member of the Commonwealth, is an island community located in the Caribbean Sea. The country takes its name from its largest island, Grenada Island, with its capital being St. George's. Throughout Grenada, various animal species such as lizards, land crabs, turtles, opossums, and monkeys are commonly found.
Grenada experiences a tropical climate with frequent severe hurricanes. The island receives abundant rainfall throughout the year, with the driest period being the first four months. Consequently, tourists predominantly visit the country between January and April. From June to October, daily rain showers are common, and despite this, August hosts a significant festival, making it attractive to tourists.
Known as the "Spice Isle," Grenada cultivates a variety of spices, with coconut being another significant product grown abundantly in its natural environment. Coconut trade constitutes a major economic activity, but tourism is considered the most important aspect of the economy, drawing visitors with its impressive beaches, white sands, natural beauty of rainforests, and hidden coves.
While French influences are present in Grenadian cuisine, the national dish is "oildown," made from coconut milk. Seafood also holds a prominent place in the country's gastronomy. During your visit to Grenada, you can enjoy various types of fresh seafood. Rum and beer are the most commonly consumed beverages.
Grenada offers a wide range of water sports, with snorkeling and scuba diving being the most popular. Cricket is highly popular, and trekking in the rainforests and swimming in waterfalls are activities that captivate tourists. The Underwater Sculpture Park, featuring nearly 100 extraordinary sculptures beneath the sea, is a must-see for anyone visiting Grenada.
