Zurich has a very well developed public transportation system within the city. This system also serves the airport, which is located 13 km from downtown Zurich. Using the tram or bus lines from anywhere in the city you can get to the main railway station, Zurich Hauptbahnhof. From this station you can easily take a train or tram to the airport. Zurich Airport is accessible by train, bus, tram, and taxi.

Train

Taking the train to the airport from the city center is very practical. Trains depart from the main railway station and get to the airport in about 12 minutes. Trains also run every 12 minutes.

Trains depart on time and are very reliable, unless there is a special circumstance that is causing a delay. The train provides transportation directly to the Airport Station, which is located on Level -2, next to the airport shopping center. Bus

The city is famous for its public transportation network and the bus network throughout the city is especially advanced and comprehensive. Taking a bus to the airport is another convenient transportation alternative. You can take a bus from the main railway station, which is easily accessible from every part of the city. Buses provide direct transportation to the Airport Centre. Buses are on time and reliable under normal circumstances; in case of snow there can be delays.

Tram

The city’s tram network is also very advanced. The tram network extends to most parts of the city but the lines surround the city center. If there is a part of the city that is not accessible by tram you can transfer to a bus or train to get to your destination. Tram Line 10 provides transportation to the Airport Centre from the main railway station.

Taxi

Taxis are another convenient transportation alternative to get to the airport from the city center. However, taxis are more expensive when compared to public transportation options. Public transportation in Zurich is very comfortable and reliable, so you can enjoy the same comfort-level using public transportation for a fraction of the price.

If you don’t want to take public transportation consider renting a car, which can be more affordable than taking a taxi. Airport Information

Zurich Airport is located 13 km from the city center and is the primary international airport serving the city. It is also the largest airport in the entire country. In addition to offering convenient transportation alternatives to and from the airport, Zurich Airport also features services to meet passengers’ pre-flight and post-flight needs. Zurich Airport contains many shops, located both before security and after. The general area before security check features stores such as Migros, Herren Globus, and Inter Discount and places you can get a bite to eat or something to drink like Starbucks and McDonald’s.

Once passengers go through security they have access to a variety of services and venues. Passengers can go shopping for quality products at stores like Schweizer Heimatwerk, Porsche Design, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Greider, Omega, Swatch, Swarovski, Tommy Hilfiger, and Victorinox. The Duty Free shops offer passengers luxury products at reasonable prices. The airport also contains bookstores and gift shops where passengers can buy small items and knickknacks.  

There are a variety of restaurants located in the passenger zone, including Burger King, Center Bar, Chalet Suisse, Montreux Jazz Café, and Walter. Zurich Airport also offers passengers various services such as free internet for 2 hours, lounges, currency exchange services, emergency services, transit hotels and dayrooms, and even showers. 

Pisa, reminiscent of a seaside town, is a decent, bustling and small town, so it is very easy to explore on foot. You can also rent a bike, but you should be aware that the cobblestone streets can be quite crowded. The motorcycle, which is the first to come to mind when thinking about Italy and transportation, is a very convenient vehicle for exploring the city. Motorcycle parking areas, which you can see on almost every curbside, make your job easier. Renting a car is also an option. You can see the offices of many car rental companies in the city. But if you are not thinking about going to the surrounding cities and villages, you do not need an automobile to see the city center and tourist attractions.

Public transport in the city is mostly provided by bus. You can buy your bus tickets from buffets, markets, and newspaper vendors. Ticket price is 1.20 euro for one way. When you get on the bus, you must be sure to validate your ticket on the devices inside. If you are traveling with a ticket that has not been activated, you can pay a high fine. The main bus stop is located at S. Antonio Square and the buses running between distances are leaving from here. Florence is only 60 kilometers from Pisa. The train is very comfortable and you can go to Florence in a short time. It departs many times during the day. Once you have received your ticket from the train station, you should definitely remember to validate your ticket before you board the train. Frequent checks are made during the travel, and if you are traveling with a non-validated ticket you will receive a penalty of approximately € 40.

Pisa International Airport is just 1 kilometers from the city center. For this reason, it is possible to reach the city center in a very short time. You can use municipal buses and airport shuttle services, or take a taxi. Some hotels also have an airport shuttle service. Bus

You can catch buses to the city center from bus stops at the airport terminal exit. Buses depart every 10 minutes. You can get your ticket either at the terminal or at the bus stop. One way ticket price is 1.20 euro.

Taxi

Taxis are waiting for customers in front of the airport arrival terminal exit door. Taxi transportation from the airport to the city center costs between € 6.50 and € 10.00. You can reach the city center and the main train station by taxi in less than 5 minutes. If you are traveling during the weekend, on public holidays or between 22:00 and 06:00, you will be charged an extra 2.50 euros.

Car Rental

At the airport there are offices of some car rental companies. From here you can rent a vehicle that suits your budget comfortably. If you wish, you can make your car ready when you arrive in Pisa by using the internet before your journey. Renting a car to explore the city center can be unnecessary in this small city if you only intend to stay in Pisa. On the other hand, you can go to the surrounding villages and towns with the car you rent and you can reach Florence easily in a short time. You must remember that you must have an international driver's license to be able to rent a car.

Hotel Shuttle

Some hotels such as Pisa Airport Accommodation, Antica Dimora Pisa, B & B Piccolo and Pisa Apartment offer free airport shuttle service to their guests. Likewise, some of the hotels in the city offer this service at a fee. You can easily reach the city center by using the private shuttle service between Pisa International Airport and the city center. Some shuttle service companies also provide transportation to centers such as Florence, Siena and Lucca.
