About Van
Situated in the far east of Turkey, Van has a large surface area and a population of 1,060,000 people. Van has a continental climate, like other cities of the region. Winters are harsh, and summers are hot. The nearby Lake Van makes the weather milder.
Some of the historical and natural sights to see in Van are the well-known Ahtamar Church, Şeytan Bridge on Mahi Creek, Halime Hatun Mound, the Van Castle built by the Urartians, and of course Lake Van, the city’s landmark. You can reach the city center by getting on the “İskele” (pier) minibus on the minibus lane which is 900 meters away from the terminal.
