About Ustron

The town Ustron, located in Beskid Slaski in the Vistula Valley that is 28 kilometers southwest of Bielsko-Biala, is one of the most beautiful settlements in Poland. Enjoying an excellent location between Czantoria Wielka at an altitude of 995 meters above sea level and Rownica at an altitude of 884 meters above sea level, Ustron is home to all types of accomodation facilities, entertainment venues and eating areas for all tastes and budgets. Known as the "spa paradise", Ustron is also one of the most popular places of thermal (spa) tourism in Poland. With the thermal springs dating back to two hundred years, Ustron has become a well-known international healthcare center in Europe and worldwide over time. Ustron, which has a number of sanatoriums and rehabilitation centers offering a wide range of treatments and first class professional services with the state-of-the-art equipments, is getting more popular in health tourism day by day.

Ustron, where there are 16 sanatoriums providing excellent results in the treatment of patients suffering from movement, breathing, nervous and digestive system problems, comes to the fore not only by health, but also by adventure and nature sports. You will have the opportunity to participate in mountaineering, skiing, cycling, trekking and more in Ustron offering a breathtaking view in the foothills of the Silesian Beskids during summer and winter. You can go up to the top of Czantoria with the chairlift and enjoy the opportunity to have a bird's-eye view of Ustron. By far the most striking area of Czantoria is the 710-meter long Summer Toboggan-Run. Ironworks and Smithy Museum are also the must-see places in Czantoria, where the Church of St. Anna built in 1769, the Roman Catholic Church dating back to 1788 and the Protestant Church built in 1835 are the historical sites attracting the most visitors. In addition, the oak tree of Sobieski, which is believed to have been planted to commemorate the King Sobieski's victory in Vienna, is certainly worth seeing.

Situated about 12 kilometers from the Polish-Czech border, Ustron is located at an altitude of 340-995 meters in the Podbeskidzie region. The town, which is generally dominated by temperate climate, is one of the most rainy places in Poland during the year. You should also add the Vistula River, which is 25 kilometers away from the town, to your Ustro tour list. Mentioned in the Latin documents for the first time in history in the 1300s as Ustrona, the town originally belonged to the Duchy of Teschen founded in 1290, and then fell under the hegemony of the Kingdom of Bohemia, which became part of the Habsburg Monarchy after 1526.
