About Thisted
Thisted, which is the largest city in the Thy Region on the Jutland Peninsula of Denmark, is one of the vibrant cities of the country in terms of cultural and artistic events. Located on the northwest of the Jutland Peninsula, the city is also a port city. Thisted located on the shores of the Limfjord takes its name from Tyr, a god of victory and justice in Scandinavian mythology. The name of the city is supposed to be etymologically derived from the word 'Tyr en Stead'. The port of Thisted, located on Limfjord, has been actively used for local commercial activities since the 14th century.
