Bulgaria's Sveti Vlas (St. Vlas) lies between the Black Sea and the Balkan Mountains, 40 kilometers from the city of Burgas. The distance of the city to Sunny Beach, which is the most famous beach in the region, is only 5 kilometers. If you follow this beach you should reach Nessebar; prominent with its long history and one of the closest towns to Sveti Vlas.
The Marina of Sveti Vlas, called "Marina Dinevi", is very popular. Here both locals and visitors come to enjoy the beautiful mountains, swim in the sea from a choice of three beaches that make up approximately 1.5 kilometers of coastline between them, and have fun at the bars and luxury hotels. At the Marina, where you will see gigantic yachts as well as tiny fishing boats, one of the most beautiful sights are the stalls of the local artists and craftspeople. During the summer months it’s possible to rent a boat and explore the shoreline.
There are two sections to the town, one is the modern part where there are hotels and other accommodation facilities, and the other is the old town. The old center, or old town, has traditional Bulgarian houses and fountains, closed to traffic, and full of trees. You might come across some traditional dancing in the old town square. July or August, where temperatures can reach 30 degrees, is a great time to do some water sports during the day, and go for long walks or bicycle tours later in the day when the weather cools down.
The closest airport is Bourgas Airport, approximately 38 kilometers away. You can use a taxi, rent a car, or take a bus to reach the town.
