About Suzhou
Located in Jiangsu province of People's Republic of China, Suzhou City is located in the west of Shanghai, below the Yangtze River and near Tai Lake. Suzhou, the economic, commercial and business center city, is the second largest city in Jiangsu province. The city, which has a population of about 10 million people according to 2013 data, is called "Venice of the East" or "Venice of China". The city's economy is based on the production of iron and steel, computing, electronic devices and textile products. There is also Suzhou Industrial Park in the city. Suzhou city is located on the railway line between Shanghai and Nanjing. Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, Beijing-Shanghai railway and Shanghai-Nanjing intercity railway stations are located in Suzhou Harbor, which is also the busiest river port in the world at the same time. Suzhou Metro was opened in 2012, while Sunan Shuofang International Airport continues to provide air transportation.
