About Stara Zagora
Stara Zagora, which is an important economy center in the country, is the sixth largest city of Bulgaria. You can visit Stara Zagora Mineral Baths which are 16 km northwest of the city or another mineral bath located in Yagoda village which is 15 km north of the city for benefitting from treatment methods of thermal waters.
Geo Milev Drama Theater, oldest Bulgarian theater of Thrace, is in this city. In addition, in the city there are Opera House in South Bulgaria, Stara Zagora State Opera and Augusta Traiana Forum. The 34 hotels in the city indicate that the city is suitable for congress tourism. Stara Zagora is famous for its straight streets, linden trees and poets, as well as being a large university city.
The city is in an area of a transitional continental climate with a considerable heat wave influence coming from Mediterranean. Some rare tropical trees and various trees such as cedar, fig, laurel, pomegranate, almond, diospyros kaki and cypress are observed. The average temperature in January is 1 degree, while the average temperature in July is 24 degrees.
