About Seremban

Seremban is the capital city of the Negari Sembilan province of Malaysia. It lies 70 kilometers south of the city of Melaka, 60 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur. With its about half a million inhabitants, Malay, Indian and Chinese live together here as in other cities on the west coast of the country. Seremban, which is not officially considered a city, is expected to have this city status in 2019.

Seremban is famous for its tin mines in its history dating back to the 1870s, and today it is the business-commerce center for many villages and towns. In addition to the city's business identity, there is a different culture called Minangkabau which differs from many cities. This definition derived from buffalo is meaningful with its unique roof architecture resembling buffalo horns. You can see this type of architecture in many buildings in the city, such as the City Council and the State Museum. One of the features that make the city different from other parts of the world is the practice of an old Malay tradition called Adat Perpatih, which gives women more social status than men.

Although the city on the banks of the Linggi River is too small, it can offer a wide range of shopping centers and restaurants. You can find many modern shopping malls and Indian - Chinese cuisine. The mosques, churches and Malay houses and palaces built without using any single nail are the city's cultural stops. The walk in the Lake Gardens, a recreation forest with the most beautiful nature, the Muzium Negeri Sembilan (State Museum), the Tuanku Ja'afar Royal Gallery, the local arts center and the animal park are the places that you should definitely visit. You need to have an umbrella while you visit this equator city that has an average temperature of about 30 degrees because of the monsoon rains between April and October. If you wish to visit the coasts of the city, you can do water sports on Port Dickson Beach and you can saturated with sand, sun and sea trio.

Seremban is located on the main train line connecting the cities of Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. Train and bus are used mostly in transportation in and around the city. When you want to come to Seremban by air, the nearest airport that you can go to is Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which is 30 kilometers to the north. You can reach the city center from the airport by shuttle.
