About Rawai

Rawai, which is a coastal town at the south end of Phuket, is one of the two main ports of the town at the same time. Rawai beach is the ideal place to start discovering the amazing nearby islands. From this beach, you can use a boat for travelling to the nearby islands of Phuket. On the pier of the town, there are small stores where you can do shopping. In addition, there is a Gypsy Village which has a few restaurants famous for seafood. You can enjoy trying different tastes in one of these restaurants. Here, beach parties are also organized at weekends. You can enjoy many activities such as snorkeling or scuba diving. You can also join half-day or full-day boat tours. You can watch tide views in the shallow sea.

Phuket Seashell Museum, which is the symbol of the town, is among the most popular places to visit in Rawai. In the museum, you can see the biggest pearl of the world which is 140 karats. There are also priceless seashells and a fossil of about 400 million years old. Promthep Cape View Point, which is translated as “God’s Cape” and where you can watch the wonderful sunset under the sugar cane trees, is one of the most enjoyable points of the town. The most interesting structure of Rawai, which is a popular destination for tropical holidays with its deep blue sea and white sandy beaches, is the Wat Chalong Temple built by the Buddhist priests in the 19th century. It is said that the temple, which is a three-floored tower, houses a fragment of bone from the Buddha.

The closest airport to this charming town of Phuket, which is the right place to learn martial arts and which reflects the Thai culture best, is the Phuket International Airport. The distance between the airport and Rawai is approximately 35 kilometers and you can reach the town by using a shuttle or taxi departing from the airport.
