Perissa is a holiday town located on the southeastern coasts of the Island of Santorini in Greece. It rises just over the ancient town Elefsina in the south of the Mésa Vounó Mountain. The traditional texture is still preserved in the modern town founded in 1960s.

Considered as the most beautiful coasts of Santorini, the deep and dark blue waters and 7-kilometer long velvety beaches covered by black lava sands of Perissa possess the “Blue Flag” award. You can experience all the water sports including diving, windsurfing and parasailing in addition to classic holiday activities such as swimming in the warm waters of the Aegean Sea and sunbathing. Beside a lively night life in the town, there are shops for anything you need.

You can watch the wonderful view of Perissa and the Kamari Village by walking towards the ruins of Ancient Thira on the way through the Mésa Vounó Mountain and by having a short trip on a donkey. In the Museum of Minerals & Fossils of Thira, which is the most interesting museum of the town, it is possible to see the fossil findings of not only the ancient town but also the whole Greece as old as 1.5 billion years.

As in the whole Santorini, Perissa exhibits a visual show with its historical monuments as well. The Church of Holy Cross, which is in the center of Perissa, the white Church of Panagia Katefiani on the slopes of the Mésa Vounó Mountain and the Basilica of Agia Irini, which remained from the 16th century, are among the numerous churches and chapels we would recommend you to visit. You can reach the neighboring Kamari village by water taxis and breathe the air of a real Greek village in Emporio, which you can reach by walking just in 20 minutes. Thira, the Center of Santorini,  is at a distance of 15 minutes by taxi.

Displaying a splendid view with its white painted villas and craggy coasts, Perissa is also preferred because of its reasonable prices compared to the main touristic centers of Santorini. You can select any hotel, restaurant and entertainment venue according to your budget and expectation.
