About Nueva Gerona
Nueva Gerona, which is located in the south of Cuba, is the central city of the Juventud Island. According to the data of 2012, about 60,000 people live in the city. The city established by the governor of Cuba Francisco Dioniso Vines struggling with pirates is located 10 km west of the Las Cansas River. Citrus fruits, mangoes, melons and other tropical fruits produced on Juventud Island are exported through Nueva Gerona. In the city where kaolin and marble stones used for porcelain production are produced, marine animals and tuna fish are hunted.
You can travel from the city to La Fe from the highway which is 20 km-long, to Havana from Rafael Cabrera Mustelier Airport and to Batabano in Cuba by sea. Baseball and football clubs on Juventud Island are built based on Nuevo Gerona. As baseball playing field Estadio Cristobal Labra is used and football is played in Estadio El Rodeo.
