About Navi mumbai

Navi Mumbai, which is located in the state of Maharashtra and the twin city of Mumbai in India, is also known as Navi (New) Bombay. Situated in Thane, the northeast of Mumbai, the city constitutes a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as well.  The city was founded as a satellite town in 1971 to help Mumbai, which was becoming more and more crowded. Although there was no decrease in the crowd of Mumbai, the satellite city turned into one of the bases of specifically the technology sector in time. Today, it is especially preferred for shopping with its life standards cheaper than Mumbai and well-organized connecting roads. Seen as the entrance point of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, the biggest planned city of the world, covers an area of 344 square kilometers in total.

You can both feel the traditional atmosphere of India and experience the modern life in the city. Nhava Sheva, the biggest port of India, is a strategical location in the city. There are quite a few places to see in Navi Mumbai, where you will visit the shopping centers and the greenery rather than historical places as it is a very new city. The natural parks of Navi Mumbai are striking to breathe within the crowd, which you will find in almost every city of India. The Central Park, where you can walk through flowers, the Wonders Park embodying the copies of the seven wonders of the world, the natural Pandavkada Falls flowing from a height of 107 meters, Karnala Bird Sanctuary where migratory birds take rest and the Mango trees are only some of the parks-gardens in the city. The Palm Beach Marg, which is a modern six-lane road with panoramic views of the city, the huge stadium DY Patil which comes to mind when cricket and football are mentioned and can host 55000 people, the Municipality Building with the tallest flagpoles of India are among the most photogenic areas. When it comes to the temples of the city, you will meet the most colorful city sceneries. The Iskcon Temple, covering an area of 8 decares on the hills of Sahyadri,  and the temples Bawkhaleshwar and Nerul Balaji, which are devoted to various gods, are some of the most ideal places to experience a totally different culture.

When you are traveling to Navi Mumbai by air, you will land on the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, the closest airport at a distance of 27 kilometers. You can reach the city center by taking a train, bus, taxi or renting a car.
