About Koh Kong
Koh Kong city, located on the Thai border of Cambodia and famous for its casinos, is one of the easiest links between Thailand and the country thanks to its Koh Kong Bridge. Koh Kong, an important transit point for Vietnam's southern cities to Thailand, is also one of Cambodia's most touristic cities. In the city which started to develop with regards to tourism especially with the bridge built on the Prek Kaoh Pao River at the point where the Meteuk River flows into the Gulf of Thailand, there are huge developments with regards to casinos and resort hotels.
Koh Kong Island, which is important for tourism and diving, and Cardamom Mountain, the hometown of humpback dolphin, irrawaddy dolphin and Siamese crocodile are the main tourist attractions in the city. Cardamom is also home to Indonesian tigers, Asian elephants and sun bears. Safari, hiking, cycling and bird watching are some of the activities to be carried out in the mountain. There is also an airport in the city.
Koh Kong Airport, located 4 kilometers from Dong Tong, the center of the city, is open to local flights. From the airport it is possible to reach the border of Thailand and important points of the city by bus.
