About Jinja
Jinja is a city in Uganda, an African country. The city, which is attracting attention thanks to electricity production, is also the third largest economy in East Africa. The name of the city that was built next to Victoria Falls, the second largest waterfall in the world, means 'Rock'. Almost everyone in the city speaks English. Local language is not generally used by people other than officials.
Taking a tour to the Victoria Falls is the city's most important event. The city has a tropical climate. Summers and winters are hot, but heavy precipitation occurs in certain periods. The city also exports paper, sugar cane and tropical fruit. Because it is the most important trading city in Uganda, many of the banks, educational institutions and universities are located in this city.
In urban transportation, small motorcycle-like vehicles commonly called boda boda are used. Jinja Airport is a small airport in civilian military manner. The city center is about 4 kilometers away from the airport. You can take a taxi from the airport.
