About Isafjordur
Isafjordur, which is located in the northwest of Iceland, has a population of 2600 people. Isafjordur, which is the largest city of the Westfjords peninsula, is connected to Boulangarvik with a 6-km long highway tunnel. The city, which has a small population despite of covering a large area, lives in an isolated way from the rest of the region. In the city, where a music school and a hospital are located, there is also a historical hospital and a library. Many musicians and musical groups come to the city for the festivals organized annually. In addition, there is a university that serves as a distance education center that hosts 7 thousand people. Ski Week Festival, Music Festival, Fossavatn Ski Marathon and Act Alone are among the cultural activities in the city.
