About Honiara
Honiara, located on the north coast of the Guadalcanal Island, is the capital city of the Solomon Islands. Honiara replaced the old capital, Tulagi, after World War II. It is home to a seaport where many ships take off en route to other regions, which makes it an important destination in terms of tourism. Until 1998 timber was their main export. There is an abundance of tropical fruits in Honiara, with a lot of coconuts and date palm oil. The islands have rich mineral resources like lead, zinc, and nickel. Honiara has a tropical climate, with significant rainfall, a lot of wind, and hot summers. Honiara is a great option as a holiday destination. Honiara has a vibrant and fun nightlife, with clubs that play music until late hours of the night.
