Gujarat is referred to as the Jewel of Western India and is the seventh largest state in India. You can visit the Dwarkadish Temple and have a visual feast. Its supported by 72 pillars and is of great importance in astrology. Right next to it, you can also visit the dedicated temples Beyt Dwarka, Okha and Rukmini, Mirabai, Narsinh Mehta and Shankh Narayan. Rann of Kutch is also known as the White Desert and is the largest white salt desert in the world. The desert shines like a big diamond under the sun and takes on a blueish colour when night falls. If you want to have a different experience while you are visiting the White Desert, you can join the camel safari that takes place during the months November and March.
You can visit the Somnath Temple, which was destroyed six times and rebuilt for the seventh time in the style of Chalukya architecture. You can also visit the beach and museum located near the temple during your visit. The Polo Temples which are located near Vijaynagar were built between the 10th and 15th centuries and you are able to find traces of both Islam and Hindu beliefs. On the outskirts of Pavagadh, in the desolate city Champaner and on the UNESCO World Heritage List, you can find the ruins of many ancient mosques and palaces that reflect a mixture of Islamic and Jain tradition. In the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park you should definitely spare time for; Kevda Masjid, Cenotaph, Jami Masjid, Lila Gumbaj Ki Masjid, Pavagadh Fort and Lakulisa Temple.
To swim and dive, you can visit Marine National Park which is located west of Gujarat in the Gulf of Kutch which has the longest coastline in India. To reach the marine national park, you can rent a boat from Bedi Port or Sikka Port. With the magnificent beaches and the exquiste views of the coastline, you can have a great time. You can spend a day full of green nature in Saputara, a pleasent place which takes you away from the humid air of Gujarat, which is located in the Shahyadri hills in the middle of the Dang forest. The most visited tourist places in Sapatura that you can visit are; Honey Bees Center, Rose Garden, Lake Garden, Gira Waterfalls, Mahal Forest and Gandhi Shikhar. The Palitana Temples are located on Shetrunjai Hill and are India's holiest Jain temples and is known for its 3000 carved temples. You can spend a full day at the Palitana Temples, which has 108 large temples and 872 small temples. While visiting here, you can also see a magnificent view of the Gulf of Cambay.
Gujarat cuisine especially makes vegetarians happy. Khakra made from bean and wheat flour is a very popular dish enriched with spices. You should definitely take a chance and try Indian ice cream. You can plan your trip to Gujarat any season of the year. However, the winter period between November and February are the most suitable months to travel.
