About Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad was founded in 1740 by Wazir Ghazi-ud-din, the minister of the Emperor Muhammad Shah. Ghaziabad, which is an attraction center drawing intense interest of tourists, is also known as Uttar Pradesh Gateway.

Mohan Nagar Temple, which is close to the border of Delhi and takes attention with its architecture, is a peaceful place where you can spend relaxing time in its green garden. You can visit Modi Nagar, which is very close here and want to try its local tastes. In addition, you should visit the Laxmi Narayan Temple located in Modi Nagar. This sacred place, which is known as the Red Temple, offers a peaceful atmosphere for its visitors with its architecture and calmness.

Like all other Iskcon temples in India, the Iskcon Temple in Ghaziabad attracts many people and tourists who want to pray for Lord Krishna throughout the year. The celebrations during the Janmashtami Festival continues night and day in company with music and dance. In the museum located in the temple, you can track down the Ramayana and Mahabharata epics. Swaminarayan Akshardham is a temple which is as striking as the Taj Mahal with its architectural features. The shows inside it also catch attention. To get away from the crowd of the city and spend a calm time in the nature, you can take the road to the City Forest. You can travel in the lake by boat and have long walks around the lake.

In the local cuisine of Ghaziabad, which generally concentrates on red meat seasoned with species and sauces, pulses are saving for vegetarians. There are many elegant restaurants where you can try different tastes as well as street alternatives which are more budget-friendly.

The best time to visit Ghaziabad, which is under the influence of the subtropical climate, is February, March, October, November and December when there is less rainfall.
