About Durbuy

Durbuy is located the southern part of Belgium, in Wallonia. The city with the title of 'the smallest town in the world' is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Belgium with its medieval atmosphere and cobblestone streets. You will find Michelin-star stylish restaurants among houses and stonewalls dating from the 17th and 18th centuries along the Ourthe River; the city is famous for its gastronomic restaurants and also for its variety of day trips, and activity options such as kayaking and golfing. Foodies recommend dishes that are prepared with local game animals such as pheasant, deer, and rabbit.

You can go around Durbuy, described as ‘tiny chest of wonders’, by foot or take a horse and carriage. You can also get a miniature train and have a short city tour. The magnificent towers of the 19th-century D'ursel Castle, the 1500-year-old wheat market, and the Saint Nicholas Church dating back to the 17th century are just some of the historical structures you will see in this small city.  Topiary Park, surrounded by nature and greenery, and with more than 250 trees that have been shaped as animals or human figures, is somewhere you can really embrace nature.

There are a considerable number of caves in Durbuy and underground tours are held in April. It’s definitely worth seeing the city center during Christmas time when the glittering Christmas markets are happening. You'll will find thousands of candles that burn on the pavement and a crowded ice rink among other things during this time.
