About Dodoma
Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania, is located in the center of the country. Dodoma is a city under the influence of semi-arid climatic conditions. A semi-moist and warm air is observed throughout the year. In July, the coldest season of the year, the temperature falls to around 13-14C. There is little precipitation between November and April but almost none between June and October. Public transportation within the city is done with minibuses called "dala dala". There is also a limited number of bus routes. The use of bicycles is quite common in the city. There are many things you can see and access while on bike in Dodoma, and you can rent one for an average of 5,000.00 TSH per day. Dodoma is home to two universities. However, it is not possible to say that night life is very developed or active. It is still possible to find several bars. Parliament Building and the Ismaili Mosque are places to see. You should not forget that you need special permission to take a photo of the Parliament House, otherwise you may be subject to criminal proceedings. Leo Rock is outside the city center; but trekking, climbing sports and nature photography enthusiasts will surely want to make the trip to see it. Tours to the surrounding region are also organized from the city center. If you can take a few hours to explore, take time to Tarangire Nature Park in the north of the city. You may have a chance to see the wildlife here; safari or camp.
