About Den Helder
Den Helder is a city located in the northernmost point of the North Holland peninsula. The Dutch Navy Museum (Marinemuseum) features a real submarine and reflects the history of the Dutch Navy quite well. The museum is very easy to visit and pleasant to explore. Another interesting place to visit in the city is the Fort Kijkduin (Museum and Aquarium). Located in an old castle, the small museum features many different kinds of fish and whale skeletons. De Klimvallei is an amazing climbing course with obstacles for those in search of some adventure. VanHaasterendeJong is a farm area that organizes horseback riding excursions. Here they train and sell horses; you can also enjoy the beautiful tulip gardens.
The city has many hotels and restaurants, at which we would recommend ordering the steak. There are also many fast food restaurants like Flow Stadscafe in Den Helder. The city has two stations, Den Helder and Den Helder Zuid (South Den Helder) and an airport. The city has a warm and temperate climate with regular rainfall even in the driest months.
