About Cha-am

Cha-am, which is located in the southern part of Phetchaburi province in the west of Thailand, was established in 1897 with the name Na Yang and the center of the district was moved to Ban Nong Chok in 1914. Cha-am, which is a coastal town extending along the Gulf of Thailand, is located about 2.5 hours' drive away from Bangkok, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Thailand. You can easily reach Cha-am, which is located 173 km south of Bangkok, by using the highway Phetkasem. Although the train station of the region actively offers service, minibuses and buses are more frequently preferred. You can travel to Cha-am from neighboring cities such as Bangkok and Hua Hin (located 27 km south) located in Prachuap Khiri Khan province by using other public transportation vehicles outside the train. There are also direct trains from Yai and Chiang Mai to Cha-am. If you are going to travel to Cha-am from Bangkok Airport, you need to pay about 2000 Thai Baht.

Cha-am, which is a small but popular holiday destination in Thailand, welcomes many domestic and foreign tourists, especially from Bangkok, on weekends. The biggest advantage of Cha-am is that accommodation facilities, eating/drinking areas and entertainment places are much cheaper than those in Bangkok and Hua Hin. You can experience the nightlife of Cha-am at entertainment venues in the region of Soi Bus Stop, which is also known as Entertainment Street, on Narathip Road.

You can take beautiful photos in Phetchaburi Temple, which is one of the most visited places in Cha-Am. The coolest season in Cha-am, which you can visit in four seasons, is the period between November and February, and the hottest months are March, April and May. From June to October, most days are rainy. You can discover many parts of Cha-am by renting a bicycle for 150 baht or by walking. If you will prefer one of the beachfront hotels among the hotels where you can stay with prices starting from 400 baht per night, we recommend you to make a reservation in advance. You can have a different and enjoyable experience in Cha-am every day. There are also SPA centers where you can get Thai massage. For snorkeling or scuba diving, you can take the road to Ko Tao or Ko Pha Ngan in the south. Do not end your trip without visiting the famous royal palace Phra Ratchaniwet Mrigadayavan which is very close to the city. In Phetchaburi and Hua Hin, there are many places to visit such as Tham Khao Luang, Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, Kaeng Krachan National Park, Wat Huay Mongkol and Luang Phor Thuad's giant statue.
