About Bouna
Located in the Ivory Coast, Bouna is in the Zanzan region. Bouna is close to Comoe National Park and the border of Ghana. Bouna, the main residence of the Lobi people, houses mudbrick structures built in a castle style. Bouna, a historical Koulando village, is also called Buna. Bouna, also known as the central kingdom of the princes-ruled districts, is estimated to have been established in the 17th century by Bounkani of the Dagomba people. Bouna, which is an important center for learning Islam, provides airway service with its own airport.
It is also known that this region was also used as a United Nations private landing zone. The people in Bouna, one of the main pillars of the Nouvelle Forces, army of coup d'état in 2002, suffered because of the rebellions in its history. But the region tries to reach the normal level of quality of life again, even slowly.
