About Bentota
The coastal town Bentota is located in the Galle District in Sri Lanka. The town of Bentota is located 65 km from Colombo in the south and 56 km from Galle in the north and is situated to the south of the Bentota River. With the Bentota River Airport, the town attracts tourists with its world-class hotels and is famous for water sports.
Ayurdeva, an Indian health technique, is a healing art offered in Bentota, that attracts the attention of tourists. Also the city is famous for its palm beverage production. The alcoholic beverage made from coconut is very popular. The A2 highway of the city connects Colombo to Wellawaya and is located on the railway line connecting Colombo through to Matara. Among the places to visit in the city are, Bentota Beach, Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, Brief Garden and Galapatha Raja Maha Buddhist Temple.
