Being one of the most famous thermal spring towns of Europe, Bad Gastein is located in the district of St. Johann im Pongau in one of the most touristic cities of Austuria, namely; Salzburg. Having a great reputation not only for its healing water, but also for its natural beauties and climbing, hiking and trekking tracks; Bad Gastein is a budget-friendly place in terms of the refreshments and  accomodation. When you reach Salzburg, Munchen or Klagenfurt by plane, it is quite easy to arrive Bad Gastein by taxi or bus. Bad Gastein, called as “Wild and Beautiful” by the Austrians, is a little town, yet it offers many opportunities to its visitors. The Brutalist and Belle Epoque architectures on the majestic mountainsides offer you to enjoy both the city life and nature at the same time. In the city centre, called as Bad Gastein Downtown, Wasserfall (Bad Gastein Waterfall) is a wonder of nature falling down to the valley, with its 341-metre-length and three steps. You can see the waterfall from different perspectives through the roads of Grabenbäckersteig and Wasserfallweg. Moreover, there are many restaurants that you can have breakfast in Das Regina, one of the most beautiful view spots in Bad Gastein. The most famous restaurants in which you can taste typical Austrian cuisine are: Bellevue Alm, Windiszgrätzhöhe, and Orania Stubrl. In Bad Gastein, which amazes every visitor with its first class ski resort, challenging walking tracks and healing water, Gastein Valley is the first address for the ones interested in climbing. Also, being a SPA & ski heaven on the High Tauern Mountains in the north of Salzburg, Bad Gastein lets the visitors have a different accomodation experience with its hotels and villas built in a sleep wooded slope. Bad Gastein generally has more visitors during winter. What differentiates Bad Gastein from other touristic places in the Alps is the fact that it has not undergone much change.
