Ibn Batouta Airport is located only 11 kilometres away to Tangier. You can easily get to this airport by one of the options of taxis, transfer cars or rental cars. Also, you can get information about the public transportation options, or taxis and rent-a-car firms at the Tourist Information Offices in the city centre.

Taxi

Taxis are the most common way of transport in Tangier. You can comfortably get to the airport from the city at a reasonable price. Tangier taxi drivers located in the city centre and other centric locations are at your service 24/7. The majority of the taxis apply two different tariffs as day-tariff and night-tariff. If you want to get to Ibn Batouta Airport from the city centre by taxi between 5.30 and 22.30, you will have to pay 100 Moroccan Dirham, whereas the same route might increase up to 150 Dirham between 22.30 and 5.30. You will be asked to pay 300 Dirham to go to Ibn Batouta Airport from Port Med or pay around 120 Dirham to get to the airport from the train station. It will take around 10-12 minutes to arrive Ibn Batouta Airport from Tangier city centre.

Renting A Car

If you would like to get to Ibn Batouta Airport by renting your own car, there are some certain procedures to follow, such as making a pre-reservation, having an international driving licence, not being able to rent a car hourly, etc. Loca Som, Starc Hertz, Marloc (Europcar), Scal Avis, Dbilij Car, Air Car, France Car, and Location Auto are some of the rent-a-car companies whose offices you could see at Tangier city centre. It might take around 15 minutes to arrive the airport from the city by a car.

Having had an air transportation service to around 900 thousand passengers in 2015, Ibn Batouta Airport is located 11 kilometres away to Tangier city centre. Also known as Tangier Airport or Tangier-Boukhalef Airport, this airports provides various opportunities to spend a good time while waiting for your flight, though it is not a very large airport, indeed. Especially; Newrest Rahal, CMG food&beverage and Newrest Ata Sa Medas are the most famous cafes and restaurants in the food and beverage areas of the airport. Ibn Batouta Airport also has a lot to offer you in terms of shopping. You can find souvenirs peculiar to Moroccan culture at Tresor El Mamoun, Habiba Gharafi, Dufry Maroc, Cafesta, Hudson News and as a final alternative, duty free shop.

There is no airport in Cadiz, which is a port city. While the closest airport is Jerez Airport, Sevilla International airport is preferred as it has more inbound flights.

If your plane is landing at Jerez Airport, the airport is around 45 km away from Cadiz. It’s possible to get to the city by taxi but this would cost you 50 euros. It's possible to reach Cadiz in 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions by renting a car and following the A4 highway. You can easily find car rental agencies in the baggage claim area. The cost of the car may depend on the type, size, and extra features of the car, but it’s possible to rent a car per day for 11 euro. You can also reach Cadiz by taking the train from the station to the west of Jerez Airport. The journey takes 46 minutes.

There are also shuttle buses going from the airport directly to Cadiz. If the prices of these shuttle buses seem to high for you, then you can take this or the taxi to the city centre, and then continue by public bus services once you are there. The total travelling time can go up to 1 hour.  

If you decide to reach Cadiz through Sevilla International Airport, then the most comfortable and practical alternative is to rent a car. You can find car rental agency desks in the ground floor of the main terminal. If you take the AP4 or A4 road you should reach Cadiz in about an hour and a half. There is a train station quite close to Sevilla International Airport. By using the free services from the airport, you can reach this station and from here take a train going to Cadiz. There are frequent departure times from this station and the journey takes approximately 2 and a half hours. Buses going to Cadiz don’t leave from the airport but you can take a bus or taxi to the city centre and take a bus going to Cadiz from there. The journey by bus to Cadiz from Sevilla city centre takes around 2 hours. You can get to central Sevilla for 30 euro by taxi or 4 euro by bus.

When planning your journey you shouldn’t forget that taxi fares are higher during the weekends in Spain, and that they charge extra for each of your luggage items. You will also need an internationally recognised drivers licence to rent a car.
