Transportation to Phnom Penh City Center from Airport

Phnom Penh International Airport is located about 10 kilometers from Phnom Penh city center. The distance between the airport and the city center is short and therefore there are many vehicles that can provide transportation for passengers. You can reach Phnom Penh city center in 20-40 minutes with three wheeled motorcycles named Tuk tuk, normal motorbikes, private, shared or airport taxis, city buses and car rental options.

Tuk Tuk

Tuk Tuks, the most popular transportation vehicle in India, is a practical and fast means of transportation that is most frequently used by locals and foreigners in Cambodia. With these 3 wheeled vehicles, which can only be seated by 2 adults, you can quickly get to the city center without losing too much time in the traffic. It is really cheap to go to the city center by tuk tuk which you can get from Phnom Penh International Airport. Another advantage of using these vehicles is that you will be charged a fixed fee ($ 9), regardless of where you will go to in the city center. In some exceptional cases this figure can be as low as 6 and 7 dollars. The tuk tuks are not as comfortable and reliable as taxis and buses, but they certainly provide quick access.

Motorcycle

When you arrive at Phnom Penh International Airport, get out of the terminal and you will see motorcycles that will take you to the city center for a certain fee. The cost of reaching the city with these transportation means varies between 2 and 7 dollars depending on where you are going. There are buses every 15 minutes from Phnom Penh International Airport to the city center. You can get to the city center in about 40 minutes by taking bus no. 03 from the airport. City buses, which are cheaper than other means of transportation, have a total of 20 stops between Phnom Penh International Airport and the city center. It is possible to get to the most central points of the city including the Central Market, Plaza Market, Phnom Penh Water Park and Boyoung by taking the bus. You have to buy the tickets from the airport for between 0,37 and 1 dollar to get on the buses that run from 05:30 to 20:30.

Taxi

Those who want to reach Phnom Penh International Airport by taxi will see 3 different taxi types. These include airport taxi, regular taxis, and the shared taxis. You can get to the city center in 20-15 minutes by taxi; this time can be shortened when there is less traffic.
