There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

Travelling from Maastricht Aachen Airport to Maastricht city center, which is 9.3 km away, or the city of Aachen in Germany, which is 28 km away, is very easy by the means of public transportation. You can use the taxis or get on the buses departing from Maastricht Aachen Airport terminal in order to reach Maastricht city center. If you prefer a more comfortable option, renting a car may be ideal choice for you. Travelling to Maastricht city center from Maastricht Aachen Airport by a private car lasts about 10-15 minutes.

Bus

The bus route 30 operated by Arriva company offers hourly service every weekday. The bus route 30, which provides transportation for Maastricht-Sittard and Maastricht Aachen Airport-Maastricht railway station routes, carries passengers from the airport to the Peron E, which is the Maastricht station. Some of the stops of this bus whose total travel duration is 30 minutes are Maastricht Aachen Airport arrival terminal, Maastricht city center, Sittard, Beek-Elsloo and Meerssen Station.

Taxi

When you reach Maastricht Aachen Airport, go out of the terminal building and you will see the taxis of many taxi companies. It is possible to reach Maastricht city center in about 15 minutes by paying only 35-45 Euro by getting on one of these taxis. Car Rental

If you prefer a more comfortable and fast transportation to the city center from Maastricht Aachen Airport, you can rent a car. In the airport terminal, there are the offices of many local and foreign car rental companies. You can do some research about these companies before your flight. You can reach Maastricht city center in about 10 minutes by using one of the highways A2 or N2 with the car you will receive at Maastricht Aachen Airport.
