It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

At Luxor International Airport, taxis offer service both in the daytime and nighttime. There is generally no taximeter in the taxis. For this reason, the fares of Luxor International Airport taxis can be very different. You need to talk to the driver before getting on the taxi and bargain on the fare if it is too much. It generally costs 50 Egyptian Pound to reach the center from Luxor International Airport. This amount can vary depending on the landing hour of your flight and your destination. If you will travel to West Bank from the airport, this amount can increase to 100 Egyptian Pound. Taxis and private shuttles are very convenient for passengers with heavy luggage.

Private Shuttle

Private shuttles are ideal for those who don’t want to lose time with finding a taxi at Luxor International Airport. When you get on a private shuttle at Luxor International Airport, you can comfortably and quickly travel to the center. Private shuttles are among the safe vehicles for the transfer between the airport and city center. If you are travelling as a crowded group, you can demand a larger vehicle and have a more affordable transportation to the center compared to taxis.

Car Rental

There are very limited options in terms of renting a car at Luxor International Airport. If you make a reservation in advance by contacting a local car rental company, they can arrange a car for you. You can receive the car after you have landed at the airport and take the road to the center.
