Established by the pioneer and pride of Turkish tourism, the KAYIGROUP, Sky Airlines was an airline company located in Antalya. Sky Airlines was authorized by the Ministry of Transportation to carry passengers on scheduled and charter flights. It started commercial flights on April 12, 2001, shortly after its establishment at the end of 2000. With its six B737-400, four B737-800, two A320-211, one A321-231, two B737-900ERs and one A320-232 aircrafts in its fleet, it carried 9.5 million passengers until the end of the first quarter of 2011. Sky Airlines attached great importance to continuous education through on-the-job and vocational trainings. It was certified by all international and national civil aviation organizations such as ICAO, FAA, JAA and IATA, and carried out operations according to their guidelines. Sky Airlines received its ISO 9001:2000 certification from the company TÜV Rheinland in August 2003, and ISO 9001:2008 in 2008. Sky Airlines’ mission was to be the leading organization in Turkish Civil Aviation, breaking new ground in any market it operated in with its quality of service, flight safety and focus on education. It aimed to become the number one airline in the global market as an international brand. Sky Airlines ceased operations as of June 2013.
