About Qabala
Also known as Garet Djebilet, Gara Djebilet is located in the Tindouf province of Algeria. A small settlement, the city is a paradise in Algeria in terms of iron mines. The capital of iron mining, Gara Djebilet, which plays a major role in the country's income, is located 134 kilometers southeast of center of Tindouf. Tindouf is a region of Saharan-Algeria with a population of about 30,000. It was built by the Sahrawi Tajakant tribe in 1852 near the Sahara Desert, but in 1895 it was destroyed by Reguibat Sahrawis. Until 1934, when the French troops came to the region, Tindouf was a settlement left by the locals. Since the independence of Algeria in 1962, both Tindouf and Gara Djebilet have grown and developed significantly. Gara Djebilet, with its dense mineral deposits, is located in Hammada, which covers a large part of the Sahara Desert, known as the Garden of the Devil. Sandstorms that occur frequently in the city, where the temperature might go up to 50 degrees Celsius in summer, can sometimes cause major problems.
It is possible to reach Gara Djebilet Airport, one of the most important regional airports in terms of domestic flight traffic in Algeria, without transferring from another city in Algeria. Gara Djebilet Airport is located very close to the Âouinet Bel Egra in Tindouf province of Algeria.
