About Lindi
Lindi, a small seaside town on the southern tip of Tanzania, is also the capital of the region of the same name. Located where the Lukuledi River meets the Indian Ocean, it is one of Tanzania's least populated cities. In Lindi, there is a medium-sized port where cargo and passenger ships can operate. But the city's main sources of livelihood are fishing and agriculture. Industrial and employment opportunities in the city are very limited; investment in industrial development will almost disappear. Nevertheless, Lindi is the scene of vivid and intense commercial activity of Arab and Indian merchants. There are many businesses in this area in the city. The coast of Lindi Bay, where the city is settled, is home to a small number of tourist plazas and temples. In the shade of palm trees, the most popular beaches along the coast are; Mitema, Ras Bora and Mitwero. In Lindi, there are very convenient places for boat trips and diving. In addition, the colonial-era buildings of the city center are the focus of tourists visiting the city. The city, which has a tropical climate, has a very rainy and humid climate in the summer months, but is almost dry during the winter months. Kikwetu Airport is 20 km from the city. It is located in the Northeast.
