About Cuxhaven
Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony state in Germany, is located in the country's North Sea coast. The city, where the Elbe River flows into the sea, is an important tourist destination in the country. Cuxhaven, the third largest city in the region, is located in the major metropolitan area including Bremen, Oldenburg and Hamburg. In addition to tourism, port management and fishing activities constitute the city's main sources of income. When high-budget investments made to make the city even more powerful in economic terms failed, the city emigrated in the sense of labor force. Thus, Cuxhaven, where the industry did not fully develop, remained as a typical cottage town settled by the pensionaries focusing on tourism. The city, which is under effect of hot and temperate climate, receives considerable precipitation throughout the year. Cuxhaven Nordholz Airport is 19.2 kilometers from the city center.
