Located 12 km from the city center, Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, also referred to as Madrid-Barajas Airport, is the main airport in Madrid, serving both international and domestic flights. Madrid-Barajas Airport consists of 4 terminals, Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 4, which was built in 2006. Terminal 4 is the largest terminal in the airport and operates flights for many major airlines such as Turkish Airlines and American Airlines. It is an impressive structure with modern architecture that also features a satellite building, TS4. Terminal 1 is the airport’s oldest building and another major terminal. If you want to reach the city center by public transport, you can reach the city center in about half an hour by bus which you will get from the bus stops at the exit of the departing passenger terminal. The bus number for the city center is 15.

If you do not want to use public transport, you can choose your hotel’s shuttle service. Hotel shuttles meet customers at the exit of the baggage delivery area and take them to the hotel door quickly and smoothly. It's a little more costly. But you should not forget that every hotel does not provide this service. If you check with your hotel and they provide this service, you need to book in advance.
Taxi
Taxis located at the airport are managed by Eko Taxi. You can reach the city center safely, at standard prices, and conveniently, with an airport-contracted taxi operated by a private company. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
Car Rental
At the airport there are offices of nine different car rental companies. Keep in mind that you must have an international driver's license to rent a car.
Airport Shuttle Service
The shuttles at the airport take passengers directly to the city center. It is more expensive than the municipal buses but provides a more convenient transportation service.
