Transportation to Airport from Canberra City Center

Canberra Airport

You can reach Canberra Airport From the city center very quickly by taxi. You can also use the airport shuttle buses. Car rental or transfer vehicles with driver are the most convenient transportation alternatives. There is no public transport to the airport directly from the city center. The nearest bus stop is approximately 2.5 kilometers from the airport.

Car Rental

Many car rental companies’ offices are located in the city center. Your hotel can help you with contact information. To go to the airport you should follow Fairbairn or Morshead Dr road for about 7 kilometers and follow the airport signposts. In normal traffic conditions, you can reach the airport within 10 minutes.

Taxi / Metro

It is possible to reach the airport in 10 minutes by taxi. But you should remember that the fare is about 50 dollars on average.

Shuttle

You can go to the airport by the Airport Express shuttle bus. Buses depart from Canberra city center, Russle, National Convention Center, London Circuit and YHA. Ticket costs 12 dollars. You can buy your ticket directly from the driver of the bus. The Airport Express buses do not serve on public holidays.

Limousine / Minivan

Taxis are located in the Yellow Bus aisle, just outside the baggage claim area. For a more luxurious ride to the city center there are over 300 companies that provide limousine transportation to the city center. You must make a reservation for this service beforehand.

Rental Car

There are 13 rental car companies located at the airport, offering a fleet of hundreds of vehicles. To get to the city center from the airport by car connect to the I-85 N from the Terminal Parkway. This freeway will take you to the city center.
