Transportation to Airport from Bangkok City Center

Don Mueang Intl. Airport

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Asian continent. The city, which hosted over 25 million tourists last year, has 2 airports. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Tel Aviv City Center from Airport

Ben Gurion Airport

Tel Aviv, one of the major cities in Israel and located on the country’s Mediterranean coastline, is the center of culture, art, education and trade. Tel Aviv, considered to be an important place for all religions with its history dating back to 2000 BC, is also a tourism center with its nightlife and unique beaches. The White City, in UNESCO’s World Heritage List, and the museums spread over all parts of the city make Tel Aviv more attractive.

Tel Aviv is also known as 'the city that never sleeps' where the life is active for 24 hours. Since the country is a trade center and has a crowded population, traffic congestion is the biggest problem in the city. Those governing the city are trying to make transportation easier every day with the bicycle trails they are expanding.

Trains and buses offering service to approximately one million passengers monthly are the main transportation options of the city. In the city, two airports as international and regional offer service for passengers.

At International Ben Gurion Airport, many transportation vehicles offer service for passengers. Thanks to the trains you can go not only to the city center but also to many cities of the country. Buses and taxis are trying to make transportation easier for passengers because the traffic is heavy in the city. Moreover, there is an opportunity to rent a car for those who want a more comfortable travel.

Taxi

Taxis that you can find at the Level G (ground floor) of the Terminal 3 demand higher fares at night. Since taximeters are obligatory in taxis according to the laws, you cannot bargain for the fare. Furthermore, taxi service is provided with yellow and white colored vehicles called Sherut which have the capacity of 12 passengers. In this taxi service, you cannot specify the route, you can only get off wherever you want.

Bus

You can go to the city center from the airport by taking the bus route 5 belonging to the bus company Egged. Buses operate between 05:00 am and 10:00 pm. To get on the buses, you need to buy your tickets in advance. These buses will take you to the airport in about 4 minutes which can vary according to the traffic density.

Train

Trains, one of the commonly preferred options in the transportation to the city center, are new and very comfortable. Trains operate from 05:35 am to 10:35 pm. There is a train every 30 minutes. You can buy your train tickets online or from the ticket vending machine found in the terminal building. The train station is located on the first floor (Level G) of the airport.

At the airport, there are many car rental companies offering comprehensive services for those wanting to feel themselves special. There are a great variety of vehicles from limousines to more affordable cars that passengers can rent.
